Crossed All Limits

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Congress after the Bihar Congress unit shared an AI-generated video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother. The ruling party termed the video “disgusting” and accused the Opposition of stooping to new lows in political discourse ahead of the Bihar assembly elections.

AI-Generated Video Sparks Row

The controversial video, posted on September 10 on the official X handle of Bihar Congress, purportedly shows PM Modi “dreaming about his late mother, who is criticising him over his politics in poll-bound Bihar.”

Sharing the clip, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala slammed Congress, writing on Instagram:
“Bihar Congress crossed all limits with a disgusting video. This party has become gaaliwadi instead of Gandhiwadimahila and maatru shakti ka apman is Congress ki pehchaan. Shameful… abuse Bihar as bidi and abuse a person no longer with us.”

Poonawala further alleged that instead of showing remorse over past remarks about the PM’s mother, the Congress has “defended the accused with lies” and now released this offensive video.

BJP Leaders Condemn Congress

Union Minister Anurag Thakur also hit out, telling reporters:
“RJD and Congress have shown how low politics can go. To indulge in mudslinging and mock someone’s mother—who has passed away from the land of Bihar is disgusting and shameful. The people of Bihar will never forgive such leaders and will give them a befitting reply in the coming polls.”

Union Minister Piyush Goyal echoed similar sentiments, calling the video a reflection of the “distorted mentality of Congress.” He added, “Frustrated after being repeatedly rejected by the public, Congress is now setting new records of baseness every day.”

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also weighed in on X, saying:
“There is a limit to falling into inhumanity. Congress has lost its credibility and the trust of the people. No wonder the party is continuously losing elections they are not learning any lessons from rejection.”

Previous Flashpoint

The controversy comes weeks after PM Modi’s late mother was allegedly insulted during a Congress-RJD rally in Darbhanga, Bihar, where a speaker reportedly made derogatory remarks. The BJP had strongly objected to the incident at the time.

Bihar Polls Heat Up

The AI-video row has further escalated tensions as Bihar prepares for assembly elections. While BJP accuses Congress of crossing ethical boundaries, the Opposition has countered by accusing the BJP and Election Commission of “vote theft” and manipulating the voter list revision process.
